About Bed Bath & Beyond

The inaugural Bed Bath & Beyond store made its debut in 1971 in Springfield, New Jersey, originally known as Bed 'n Bath. Warren Eisenberg and Leonard Feinstein foresaw a shift in the retail market from discount stores to specialty stores, prompting them to leave their positions at a struggling discount store to launch Bed 'n Bath. By 1985, they had opened the first Bed 'n Bath superstore and rebranded as Bed Bath & Beyond in 1987, expanding to 17 locations in New York and California within 14 years. In early 2023, the company filed for bankruptcy, leading to the closure of all physical stores. Later that same year, Bed Bath & Beyond was acquired by Overstock and currently operates solely online, offering a wide range of products including exercise equipment, home décor, bedding, kitchen and bathroom products, furniture, outdoor furniture, and home improvement items. Bed Bath & Beyond hosts annual sales during holidays and special events like Black Friday and Christmas, where customers can enjoy discounts on various products.
